ENFIA Relief Up To 20 Percent For Homes Insured Against Natural Disasters
Homeowners who insured their properties against natural disasters during 2025 can secure an ENFIA reduction of up to 20 percent, depending on the objective value of the residence. Applications must be submitted through the AADE myProperty platform by February 16 2026. Properties valued up to 500000 euros qualify for the maximum 20 percent discount while those above that threshold receive 10 percent.
Insurance companies have already transferred policy data to the tax administration for contracts covering earthquake fire and flood risks that were active during 2025. Last year data showed that 359494 owners received ENFIA reductions for 502597 insured properties and 250000 benefited from the full 20 percent cut.
AADE provides detailed instructions through 20 Q and A items accompanied by explanatory examples to help taxpayers understand eligibility and application rules.
Eligibility Requirements
Only individuals with rights to a residence listed in their E9 property declaration may receive the reduction if the home is properly insured. In cases where a legal entity is listed as the policyholder the reduction still applies as long as an individual holds the ownership right.
To qualify the insurance must be issued by a registered insurer cover earthquake fire and flood risks for at least 3 months within the same year and match the full reconstruction value of the residence calculated at 900 euros per square meter.
Examples Of Reconstruction Value Requirements
A home of 100 square meters has a reconstruction value of 90000 euros and an insured value of 100000 euros so the reduction is granted.
A home of 100 square meters with a reconstruction value of 90000 euros but an insured value of 80000 euros does not qualify because coverage falls short of the reconstruction value.
Insurance Year And Applicable ENFIA Reduction
Coverage must apply to the year preceding ENFIA calculation meaning insurance during 2025 is required for the 2026 discount. When all requirements are met annual insurance results in a 20 percent reduction for properties valued up to 500000 euros and a 10 percent reduction for homes above that level. If coverage lasts less than 1 year the reduction is adjusted proportionally.
How The Reduction Is Granted
The discount is applied centrally after the taxpayer submits an application and AADE verifies the data. When central processing is not possible the reduction is handled by the local tax office DOY after submission of form D500 along with the insurance contracts and required declarations. Group insurance policies require a certificate from the insurer detailing the coverage.
Submitting The Application
Taxpayers file their request through the myAADE platform following the path Applications Popular Applications myPROPERTY ENFIA reduction for insured residences. Access is provided via TAXISnet credentials or for legal entities through the legal representative.
When The Insured Property Does Not Appear
Owners must first verify that the residence has been correctly declared in the E9 because the reduction cannot be granted otherwise.
Steps For Policyholders
Policyholders must link each property’s ATAK number to its insurance contract within the myProperty application process. This step must be repeated for every insured property.
Steps For Co Owners
Co owners are added through the My Insurance Contracts tab where the policyholder includes their tax identification numbers. They are then notified by AADE and must confirm and link the insurance to the property on their end.
Situations Involving Third Parties
When the insurance is issued on behalf of someone else the policyholder must declare the third party’s tax ID so they can associate the policy with the insured residence.
Corrections And Missing Data
In cases where insurance details are missing or incorrect taxpayers must contact their insurer to update the information sent to AADE. Co owners who are not listed as policyholders must communicate with the main policyholder to ensure proper linkage.
Multiple ATAK Numbers
When a property has more than 1 ATAK in the E9 each must be linked to the appropriate insurance contract.
Adjustments And Tracking
Applications may be updated or supplemented until the February 16 deadline. Taxpayers can track the status of their request under Application Results on the platform. Returning applicants may see pre filled forms which can be modified before final submission.
