The UK is still preparing plans to deploy a multinational force to Ukraine after hostilities end, Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s spokesman said, despite Russian rejection.

London is continuing to draw up plans for a multinational force to be deployed in Ukraine after any agreed ceasefire, the spokesman for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said.

In a phone call today between Prime Minister Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, they discussed “the importance of continuing work by coalition partners to prepare for the deployment of the multinational force after the cessation of hostilities,” the spokesman said.

When asked whether the United Kingdom remains willing to deploy ground forces in Ukraine after fighting ends, the spokesman replied: “That commitment remains.”

Russia rejects any potential foreign military deployment on Ukrainian soil, describing such deployments as “unacceptable.”
