Loutraki case: ex-husband rejects abuse allegations, says former wife “needs psychiatric care”
A 55-year-old teacher who reported that a 6-year-old pupil touched her breast during class at a school in Loutraki had also earlier claimed she had been abused by her ex-husband. The teacher filed a complaint at the Loutraki police station about the classroom incident.
The teacher’s former husband went on the Live News program to respond to her statements. He denied ever abusing her and said the couple have been separated since March 1 and now have no contact. He also said that she is now accusing him of 30 years of abuse, which he called slander.
Key points from the ex-husband’s interview: - He acknowledged she “had problems” and that they had tried over the years to help her psychologically and morally, but — he said — she refused evaluations. - He stated she had worked in schools for many years, was appointed four years ago, completed her required posting in Corinth and could have transferred to Athens but chose to stay where she was. According to him, she left him alone with their children and her parents. - He said they agreed to separate by mutual consent and reiterated that they have had no contact since March 1. - He expressed concern for his reputation and the children, saying: “If she pushes this further, I will think about my rights and the protection of my reputation.” - He added strong criticisms about her mental state: “She is not well, she needs psychiatric monitoring, she needs medication now. I told her this before all these scenes happened.” He claimed he had proposed a peaceful separation while she wanted to involve the police and escalate the matter. He also claimed she fears taking medication because she believes it would make her “psychopathic.”
The teacher’s original complaint about the 6‑year‑old touching her in class remains the subject of the police report at the Loutraki station. The ex-husband’s statements were made publicly during his appearance on Live News.
