A house fire in the village of Milia near Metsovo left 2 elderly residents injured after flames erupted in the kitchen area. A 77 year old woman had been cooking when the blaze broke out, causing burns and other injuries to her and another elderly individual present inside the home.
An ambulance rushed both victims to the Metsovo Health Center, where they received initial treatment before being transferred to the University Hospital of Ioannina for further care.
Firefighting crews from Ioannina, Metsovo and Miliotades responded swiftly to the scene, managing to contain the fire to the kitchen. Authorities are currently examining what triggered the incident.
