Robbery in Niochorion, Apokoronas: homeowner injured, money and vehicle stolen

A 55-year-old man in the village of Niochori, Apokoronas, was the victim of a violent home robbery on the morning he returned from work. According to the victim’s account to ERTnews reporter Marina Mandakaki, he came back to his house at about 9:30 a.m. and found it ransacked by two men of Greek origin.

“One of them threatened me with a knife and the other held a crowbar, demanding I tell them where the money was. One of the perpetrators even plunged the knife into my left shoulder,” the 55-year-old told ERTnews. The man was only lightly injured but indicated where the cash was kept.

The perpetrators took approximately €7,000 and the victim’s pickup truck before fleeing the scene. The victim notified the police, who visited the house, collected fingerprints, and have launched an ongoing investigation to locate the suspects and the stolen vehicle (reported to ERTnews by Marina Mandakaki).
