The administrative staff of Greek universities who are members of the Federation of Administrative Personnel of Higher Education will hold a strike on Wednesday 3 December. This action implements the decision of the federation s 8th Congress. The federation has announced a strike and withdrawal from all administrative work related to the measure of student deletions. It has also decided to call a strike and nationwide gathering when the meeting of the Rectors Council is announced.

Discussion among staff and students preparing coordinated actions

The Administrative Staff Association of the University of Athens is organizing an event and discussion among employee and student union bodies on Thursday 4/12/2025 at 16:00 in Amphitheater 313 of the Faculty of Philosophy on the 3rd floor. The aim is to discuss and coordinate their response to the impending deletions of students and what they describe as a full scale attack on the public university and the rights of students and workers.

The association emphasizes that The deletion of almost 300000 students this year and even more in the coming years constitutes a clear political choice aimed at degrading and devaluing the public university. They state that these deletions will be used to justify further underfunding the merging and abolishing of Departments Schools and possibly even entire universities.
