Loans in Private Sector Up: Bank of Greece
According to data released by the Bank of Greece (BoG), bank lending to the domestic economy increased in September 2025.
Key figures for September 2025 (month-on-month and year-on-year comparisons):
- Total financing to the domestic economy
- Annual growth rate: 7.8% (up from 7.4% in August 2025).
- Monthly net flow: +€2.881 billion (compared with −€23 million in August).
- Financing to the general government
- Monthly net flow: +€695 million (vs −€189 million in August).
- Annual growth rate: 3.2% (up from 2.4% in August).
- Financing to the private sector
- Annual growth rate: 10.7% (virtually unchanged from 10.6% in August).
- Monthly net flow: +€2.186 billion (vs +€166 million in August).
- Financing to businesses (private non-financial sector)
- Monthly net flow: +€2.020 billion (vs +€151 million in August).
- Annual growth rate: 15.6% (slightly down from 15.8% in August).
- Financing to non-financial corporations (NFCs)
- Annual growth rate: 16.1% (stable vs August).
- Monthly net flow: +€1.850 billion (vs +€173 million in August).
