On Monday 3 November 2025 the Super League club PAE Volos announced it has filed a legal complaint against former player Daniel Sundgren. The action follows public statements attributed to Sundgren in which he allegedly suggested that matches involving Volos were fixed.
What the club says
In an official announcement the club described Sundgren’s remarks as “false and unfounded” and said it has already lodged a complaint so that Sundgren “appear before the Hellenic Justice” and substantiate his claims with “serious evidence.” The club’s statement makes clear it expects concrete proof; otherwise it will regard him as “a common slanderer” and will require him to reveal who prompted the “shameful and inexplicable” action.
