Rapid Decline in Health
One of his kidneys failed first followed by the second around Christmas. Reports indicate that fluid accumulated in his lungs and he went into cardiac arrest before doctors could begin dialysis.
A Friend Lost to the Same Practice
Around 10 years earlier de Souza revealed that a friend named Paulinho had died after using the same dangerous injections. He had spoken openly about the emotional impact of that loss.
The Warning That Defined His Later Life
Never take this oil. I stopped using it as well as other things but the desire to start again is always there. Still I manage to control myself to this day.
After witnessing the consequences firsthand he ultimately quit the injections and dedicated himself to advising younger athletes to avoid these harmful substances.
Personal Life and Family
De Souza was unmarried and had no children. He reportedly lived with his elderly bedridden mother who according to sources has not yet been informed of his passing.
