Investigators Point to the Husband
Prosecutors determined that Federica was killed inside her home by her husband Claudio Carlomagno who had denied involvement for 10 days while her whereabouts remained unknown.
Body Discovered Buried Near Agricultural Facility
After extensive searches investigators located her body in a field beside an agricultural business owned by Carlomagno. A critical discovery came when officers noticed a woman’s hand emerging from the soil leading them to confirm the tragic outcome.
Signs of Conflict and Evidence Collected
Although the couple lived in the same home friends reported that they were separated. Federica’s phone stopped working 10 days earlier. Neighbors also recalled seeing Carlomagno washing a work truck only hours after she disappeared. Blood traces were later found on his clothing in their home and at his workplace.

Claudio Carlomagno was transported to a prison in Civitavecchia located 80 kilometers north of Rome. His lawyer stated that the suspect intended to go to the police but was arrested before he could do so saying {"He wanted to go to the police but did not make it"}.
