3 people lost their lives and 1 woman was rescued with hypothermia after an avalanche struck the Aragon Pyrenees.

An avalanche in the Aragon Pyrenees resulted in the deaths of 3 people and left a woman suffering from hypothermia, according to the Spanish Civil Guard.

A call for help was placed around 13:00 local time by a woman who witnessed the avalanche and noticed 4 skiers in the affected area.

Rescue teams deployed to the slopes near the summit of Tablato, close to the Panticosa spa zone, with at least 1 helicopter assisting the operation.

Authorities later confirmed that 3 bodies were recovered while a woman was pulled from the snow alive but in hypothermic condition.

Jorge Azcon, president of the Aragon region, expressed shock at the tragedy in a message on X and announced plans to visit the site.
