Journey to Settle a Dispute
Initial information indicates that the victim, a Bulgarian resident of Cyprus, travelled from Limassol to Peyia with 4 others to meet a 30 year old man. The meeting was arranged to resolve personal differences between the parties.
Confrontation Turns Deadly
During the encounter, a fight broke out and the 30 year old reportedly pulled a knife, fatally injuring the 41 year old. The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

The man who died at the hospital was identified as Georgi Marinov Ivanov. When police arrived in Peyia after the confrontation, they initially found only a damaged car with a broken windshield. Shortly afterward they located another vehicle containing the injured victim, who was still alive at the time. Friends attempted to transport him to the hospital, accompanied by the police.

Doctors fought to save his life until 4 in the morning, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
