Investors Line Up For A Slice Of The Riviera
There is a certain buzz in the air along the southern edge of Athens, and even from a distance you can feel it. The only serviced beach open for development in the Vari Voula Vouliagmeni Municipality has sparked serious interest, drawing 4 competing investment groups eager to secure a long term stake in the sun drenched coastline.
The tenders committee of the Hellenic Public Properties Company has officially opened the bids for a 20 year concession of Akti Vouliagmenis, a place many Athenians consider the crown jewel of the Athenian Riviera.
Akti Vouliagmenis sits just 25 km from the center of Athens, effortlessly attracting locals and visitors alike. Last year alone, the beach welcomed around 420000 people and generated an estimated €3.2 million in revenue, a testament to its enduring appeal.
