Heating Allowance Advance Distributed to More Than 1.1 Million Beneficiaries
Authorities confirmed that 1,168,945 beneficiaries received the heating allowance advance last week, marking a significant financial boost ahead of the colder months.
Payments amounted to 31,278,420.17 euros for electricity and 92,933,907.13 euros for heating oil and other fuels, reflecting the broad range of eligible energy uses.
This initial installment represented 60 percent of the total allowance for the 2024 2025 season and served as the first of 3 scheduled payments.
Two additional disbursements will follow by April, offering households continued support through the winter period.
Upcoming Payment Deadlines
Fuel purchases including pellets and wood will be covered by a payment scheduled no later than 29 May 2026, provided transactions up to 15 April 2026 are declared by 30 April 2026.
Natural gas and district heating beneficiaries will receive an additional payment by 31 July 2026, extending relief into the summer months.
Total funds allocated to the program reach 195 million euros, ensuring support for more than 1.2 million households across the country.
How the Allowance Is Calculated
The allowance ranges from 100 to 800 euros and can rise to 1,200 euros in regions experiencing extremely low temperatures.
Calculation is based on the Reference Amount multiplied by the Weather Adjustment Factor SO M, with a 20 percent increase granted for each dependent child.
Areas with SO M ≥ 1 receive a 25 percent increase, with payments capped at 1,000 euros.
Areas with SO M ≥ 1.2 gain a further 25 percent, raising the cap to 1,200 euros.
Beneficiaries must select only one type of fuel or energy source for their allowance.
IBAN Requirements and Application Issues
Payment disruptions may occur when applicants submit a bank account that lists a different individual as the account holder.
The IBAN must be correctly registered prior to finalizing the application on the myAADE platform under the IBAN Declaration section.
Applications submitted by 5 12 2025 totaled 224 for electricity and 524 for heating oil and other fuels, closing the official submission period.
