Novak Djokovic has confirmed that he is leaving the Professional Tennis Players Association, the organization he launched with Vasek Pospisil in 2020.
The Serbian champion disclosed his decision through a post on his personal account on X, outlining concerns that prompted the move.
After careful consideration, I have decided to step away completely from the Professional Tennis Players Association. This decision comes after ongoing concerns regarding transparency, governance, and the way my voice and image have been represented.
The message emphasized dissatisfaction with how his role had evolved within the association.
Djokovic noted that he remains proud of the foundational mission he and Pospisil pursued when creating the PTPA, which aimed to strengthen player representation.
The athlete explained that the groups current trajectory no longer aligns with his values or approach.
He indicated that his priorities now lie in focusing on his tennis, dedicating time to his family, and contributing to the sport through avenues consistent with his principles.
Djokovic added that he wishes success to those continuing the work of the association but made clear that this chapter has closed for him.
