A 35 year old foreign national facing serious charges in Turkey was detained by Greek police in Thessaloniki.

Authorities in Thessaloniki arrested a foreign national after officers from the Migration Enforcement Department of Mygdonia located the 35 year old man who was reportedly without legal residence documents. Investigators later confirmed that a Red Notice issued by Turkish authorities was outstanding against him for charges linked to firearms offenses, ammunition related crimes, causing fatal bodily harm and homicide. Police transferred the detainee to the Migration Enforcement Department of Agios Athanasios following the arrest. Judicial authorities are expected to take over the case as the man is scheduled to be brought before the competent prosecutors.
