A serious assault involving minors prompted an urgent police response in Evia on the night of Tuesday 13 01. Authorities were alerted after a group of teenagers attacked a peer under circumstances that remain unclear.
Witness accounts indicated that the victim sustained facial injuries during the incident. Medical staff at the General Hospital of Chalkida provided the first round of treatment before concluding that further care was required.
Doctors insisted on his transfer to the Agia Sofia Children Hospital in Athens due to trauma to his jaw. Investigators subsequently detained one minor along with the minor parents on charges linked to neglect of supervision.
Officers are continuing efforts to locate the remaining teenagers believed to have taken part in the assault.
