A police investigation into the disappearance of 16 year old Laura from Patras has now entered its sixth day as authorities redirect their efforts toward Athens. Investigators found no indication that she has crossed national borders during her absence.
Fresh information has brought new context to the case, revealing that Laura had previously attempted to run away twice while on a school trip to Barcelona. Reports indicate that during the first incident she refused to enter the metro, forcing teachers to intervene and pull her into the carriage.
Another attempt occurred when she failed to follow her teachers to the airport gate for the return flight to Patras. These episodes have become significant in understanding her recent disappearance.
Police discovered that Laura visited a pawn shop in Athens on 10 January, just 2 days after arriving in the city, where she sold jewelry in exchange for money. Video footage from the shop confirms her presence and documents the transaction.
Authorities believe she is not navigating the situation alone, given her limited familiarity with Athens and her lack of stable accommodation or support. Officers note that her ability to move around, change appearance, and manage basic logistics suggests guidance from someone more experienced.
Investigators are examining the possibility that an adult may be directing her actions. They have yet to identify where she is staying or whether she is frequently changing locations to avoid detection.
