Greece Shines at IROC 2025 With Major Medal Haul
The Greek delegation celebrated a landmark performance at the 27th International Robotics Olympiad in Gold Coast, Australia, securing 3 gold medals, 3 bronze medals and 11 technical awards. This result underscored the rigorous preparation of the HELLAS IROC TEAM and highlighted the growing prominence of robotic sports as a field where Greece continues to distinguish itself.
Leadership within the delegation pointed to discipline, structured planning and strong sportsmanship as the foundations of the team’s achievements. Support from parents, donors and sponsors also played a central role in strengthening the effort.
The Delegation Behind the Success
The Greek mission was led by President Emmanouil Tselepís, General Secretary Maria Tsiaparídou, Secretary and Mission Leader Grigoris Kalogiantsídis and Coach Nikolaos Tzamtzís.
Extensive backing from families and contributors further amplified the team’s capacity to perform at an elite level.

President Tselepís emphasized that Greece returned home with 6 medals due to hard work rather than luck, stressing that the combination of 3 golds, 3 bronzes and 11 technical distinctions reflects a national team with strategy and character. Mission Leader Kalogiantsídis described the event as a demonstration of high standards, detailed procedures and strict evaluations, stating that the Greek team operated professionally and represented the country with clarity and confidence.
General Secretary Tsiaparídou underlined that Greece gained not only medals but also international respect while conveying official greetings from Sports Minister Giannis Vroutsis. She stressed that collective effort was key to the team’s powerful presence.
Greece Strengthens Its Role in International Collaboration
The closing ceremony featured official greetings from Minister Vroutsis and included a special medal presentation to the Korean team, reinforcing the spirit of international cooperation. Greece’s ongoing institutional engagement in robotic sports has continued to grow, following the 2024 Athens event.
European organisational processes for 2026, overseen by Georgia Loggitsi Karnezi, are now approaching legal completion to ensure timely preparation for the next national delegation.
