A violent confrontation unfolded on Thursday morning 8 January 2026 in Arnaia Chalkidiki when a 62 year old man stabbed his 51 year old co in law outside the latter’s home.
A quarrel erupted for reasons that have not yet been clarified leading to a struggle between the 2 men.
The 51 year old reportedly attempted to disarm the attacker during the fight which resulted in injuries to both individuals.
Medical staff at Polygyros Hospital received the 51 year old shortly after the incident.
The 62 year old then went on his own to the Health Center of Palaiochori where police were notified and proceeded with his arrest.
He was subsequently transferred to Polygyros Hospital where he remains under guard.
Hospital sources state that the 51 year old’s condition is stable and not considered life threatening.
Prosecutors have filed attempted homicide charges against the 62 year old.
The Polygyros Crime Investigation Department is currently examining the circumstances of the case.
