A wave of swift break ins unsettled Peristeri as two young burglars targeted multiple shops and vehicles in a single night. Security footage revealed the pair moving quickly through the neighborhood while carrying out consecutive hits.
An unusual level of force became evident when they lifted a manhole cover and hurled it at the glass entrance of a shop, shattering it before one offender slipped inside. A store owner explained that the intruder smashed the glass, kicked it twice, entered the premises, and emptied the cash register while also taking a mobile phone within minutes.
Another video captured the same duo arriving on a scooter and parking beside a taxi. One of them approached the vehicle and broke the window before rummaging inside, unaware that a hidden camera was recording their actions clearly. The footage showed their uncovered faces and movements in detail.
The pattern continued as they struck a business on a central street using the same method to break through its glass front. Surveillance images documented the thief moving behind the counter, grabbing cash and items, and causing damage before fleeing.
The suspects have yet to be found, leaving local business owners uneasy. Shopkeepers are urging authorities to increase police presence as concern grows following the string of nighttime break ins.
