A 41 year old foreign national was taken into custody in Thessaloniki on Tuesday afternoon on charges related to drug law violations. Police moved in after evaluating information indicating his alleged involvement in the possession and distribution of cocaine in the wider area.
Officers located the suspect driving a rental car and immobilised the vehicle during a coordinated operation. Investigators later determined that he had previously concealed 4 small packets of cocaine weighing 3.9 grams inside a plastic tube hidden in a stone wall outdoors, intending to distribute them further.
A search of his residence and the surrounding area produced additional evidence, including cash believed to be linked to drug trafficking and 104 more small packets of cocaine.
Authorities seized the following items:
104 cocaine packets weighing 130.7 grams
Electronic precision scale
4000 euros
Numerous plastic bags and 2 mobile phones
The suspect, who has a prior criminal record for similar offenses and was already under restrictive conditions, is being referred to the competent prosecutor.
