A 56 year old businessman was arrested in Palaio Faliro during a police check that uncovered multiple weapons and a forged driving licence. Officers found two pistols three bullets one magazine and a folding knife during the inspection.
The individual was taken into custody by the Palaio Faliro Security Department where he remains detained. Information indicates he works in the restaurant sector and is known to authorities.
The man has an extensive criminal record dating back to 1997 when a case file was created for robbery and attempted extortion involving threats with a weapon. Police arrested him again in 1998 for violations of health regulations.
The record continued to grow in 2001 with an arrest for moral instigation in attempted extortion dangerous bodily harm and illegal possession of a weapon. Another incident followed in 2003 when he was involved in an extortion attempt tied to financial disputes.
Further trouble came in 2005 after he threatened someone with a gun during a street altercation. Authorities documented a violation of health regulations in a business in 2009.
Additional arrests occurred in 2013 for tax evasion traffic violations and weapons offences after ammunition was found in his home. A year later in 2014 he was detained for resistance disobedience and providing false information to police.
