50 year old man found dead inside his home in Lamia
A 50 year old man was discovered dead on Saturday 3 January 2026 inside his family residence in the Anixi district of Lamia. Relatives had been trying to contact him since the previous Tuesday after multiple calls went unanswered.
Concerns grew as days passed without any sign of communication. Family members who lived nearby eventually alerted police and requested the assistance of a locksmith to gain entry to the property. Once the door was opened, the man was found deceased.
The individual had spent many years living in the United States before returning to Lamia 2 years ago, continuing his professional work remotely. He was the son of a well known local businessman who had died several years earlier.
Initial police assessments ruled out any indication of criminal activity. Authorities believe his death resulted from pathological causes, and an autopsy has been ordered by the Lamia Police Department, which is overseeing the investigation.
