Accidental Shooting Injures Man in Chania
A late evening incident on Friday 2 1 in Chania Crete left a 38 year old man injured after an accidental discharge from a shotgun. Authorities reported that his 36 year old brother had been showing him the weapon which he had just cleaned.
Investigations indicate that the shotgun still contained 2 cartridges when mishandling caused it to fire. Injuries were sustained to the victim's arm and leg during the unexpected discharge.
Medical teams transported the injured man to Chania Hospital where doctors confirmed that his condition is stable and his life is not in danger.
Police officers subsequently arrested the 36 year old man in connection with the incident.
