Greek farmers at the Mpralos blockade moved into a new phase of protest on Monday 29 12 25 after a unanimous decision during their late night general assembly. Fresh plans call for a 2 hour shutdown of side roads and access points leading to both national and regional routes from 14:00 to 16:00. Rising tensions shaped the debate as earlier reports suggested their representatives attended a meeting in Epanomi and endorsed a related document. Participants firmly denied these claims and noted their delegates were present only as observers without any mandate to sign or negotiate.
Farm leaders stressed their full alignment with the Panhellenic Blockade Committee and reaffirmed commitment to the jointly agreed framework. Their announcement also emphasized that despite escalating actions they aim to uphold social responsibility by safeguarding holiday travel wherever possible. Traffic flow on the downhill lane from Lamia to Athens was restored on Saturday when tractors were removed from that stretch of road.
Similar efforts were undertaken at the Kastro blockade where farmers allowed vehicles to pass through nearby crossings, helping ease congestion that had built up between the Tragana tolls and the Martino junction as well as on side routes leading to the Kastro interchange. Farmers in Thiva Kastro Atalanti and Mpralos say they are ready to intensify mobilizations before and after the New Year period while insisting that all decisions will continue to be made exclusively through general assemblies and always in coordination with the national committee.
