Farmers withdraw from several roadblocks but maintain pressure ahead of a crucial meeting in Nikaia.

Farmers Convene as Key Roadblocks Shift and Traffic Adjustments Continue

Farmers across Greece adjusted their protest actions today, pulling tractors away from Tempi, Malgara, and the Old National Road Thiva Livadia while maintaining firm blockades at Nikaia, the Thiva junction, and Kastro Voiotias.

The Panhellenic Committee coordinating the blockades is gathering in Nikaia at 1 p.m. to choose the delegation that will represent farmers in upcoming discussions with the government.

Traffic at Malgara remains partially open, with 2 lanes accessible toward Athens and 3 toward Thessaloniki according to ERT.

National Road access at Malgara reopened yesterday along with other Thessaloniki area blockades in Halkidona and Derveni, and Egnatia Odos is also functioning normally at Siatista.

Customs operations at Promachonas are proceeding without disruption, while challenges persist at Evzoni, Niki, and Kipi where truck passage is blocked by ongoing farmer action.

Movement near Nikaia remains complicated despite tractors leaving the Tempi tunnels, as approximately 1,500 to 2,000 tractors stationed around the Larissa section of the National Road are still forcing traffic onto detours.

Conditions at Kastro Voiotias continue to be the most difficult, with farmers there maintaining a hard line as attention turns to the decisions expected in the hours ahead.

Further proposals surfaced during the General Assembly, including the possibility of organizing a demonstration in Athens on the same day as the meeting to secure wider public backing.

Police spokesperson Konstantia Demoglidu identified Kastro Voiotias as the most problematic location, noting that heavy vehicles cannot safely follow the diversion route in that area.

She also underlined that cooperation with farmers in Thessaly has been constructive, while confirming that multiple case files have been opened whenever offenses were recorded.

Concerns were raised about safety risks in Nemea, where farmers had entered the road network on foot, prompting authorities to stress the dangers of such actions near the blockade.
