Greece recorded a notable drop in unemployment in November 2025 as ELSTAT reported that the national jobless rate eased to 8.2 percent from 9.7 percent in November 2024 and from 8.6 percent in October 2025.
The number of unemployed people reached 395436 individuals, marking a decline of 62458 compared with November 2024 a reduction of 13.6 percent and a decrease of 13900 compared with October 2025 down 3.4 percent.
Unemployment among women continued to recede as the rate moved to 10.6 percent from 12.3 percent a year earlier while the rate for men slid to 6.3 percent from 7.5 percent.
Youth unemployment for those aged 15 to 24 fell sharply reaching 16.6 percent compared with 21.2 percent in November 2024 and unemployment for people aged 25 to 74 settled at 7.7 percent down from 9 percent.
Employment rose steadily as ELSTAT counted 4406148 employed individuals an increase of 121939 compared with November 2024 equal to 2.8 percent and a rise of 38600 compared with October 2025 equal to 0.9 percent.
The number of people under 75 classified as outside the labor force totaled 2937797 marking a reduction of 86848 from November 2024 equal to 2.9 percent and a further decrease of 26982 from October 2025 equal to 0.9 percent.
