Around midnight on Tuesday, emergency services responded to reports of a 13 year old girl discovered unconscious in Peristeri. Authorities soon determined that she had consumed alcohol obtained from a local kiosk. Another detail revealed by investigators confirmed she had been with friends at the time she collapsed.
An EKAV ambulance transported the teenager to the Agia Sofia Childrens Hospital, where doctors report she is in stable condition and not at risk. Police from the DIAS unit subsequently arrested her father on suspicion of endangering a minor. Officers also detained the 52 year old kiosk operator for breaching laws that prohibit the sale of alcohol and tobacco products to minors.
