A violent confrontation shook the town of Arnaia in Chalkidiki on Thursday morning when a dispute between two men related by marriage ended in bloodshed. Authorities reported that a 61 year old man visited the home of his 52 year old co father in law and attacked him with a sharp object for reasons that remain unclear.
Emergency responders transported the injured 52 year old to Polygyros Hospital after he sustained serious wounds during the assault. Medical officials later confirmed that his condition is stable.
The 61 year old suspect also suffered injuries during the altercation. After the incident he made his way independently to the Paleochori Health Center, where staff alerted the police who promptly arrested him. Officers subsequently transferred him to Polygyros Hospital, where he is currently under guard.
