Cloudy skies will dominate Greece on Monday as scattered showers spread across western and northern regions along with the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. Thunderstorms are expected to flare up first in the northwest before expanding to the rest of the west.
Some storms may turn severe from the afternoon over the northern Ionian and Epirus while western Central Greece could see stronger activity by nightfall. Additional isolated thunderstorms remain possible over the eastern Aegean islands.
Light snow is likely to begin over mountain areas of the western and northern mainland later in the day. African dust will again be present in the atmosphere, particularly across western Greece.
Southern winds will blow at 4 to 6 Beaufort, strengthening to 7 locally and reaching 8 in the Ionian and at times the Aegean. Temperatures will drop slightly in the north with values ranging from 16 to 17 degrees in central and northern inland districts and 18 to 19 degrees elsewhere.
Macedonia and Thrace
These regions will face widespread cloudiness with local showers especially across eastern Macedonia and Thrace. Mountain areas in Macedonia may see light snow by the afternoon.
Southerly to southwesterly winds will reach 4 to 6 Beaufort, locally 7 and early in the morning up to 8. Temperatures will range from 09 to 17 degrees, with western Macedonia up to 5 degrees lower.
Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Central Greece, Western Peloponnese
Conditions will stay cloudy with showers throughout the day. Thunderstorms will start in the north before extending southward, possibly becoming strong from the afternoon in the northern Ionian and Epirus and later in western Central Greece.
Light snow could appear in mountainous terrain from the afternoon. Southern to southeasterly winds will blow at 5 to 7 Beaufort and in the Ionian climb to 8 before easing late at night. Temperatures will sit between 11 and 18 or 19 degrees, roughly 3 to 5 degrees lower in interior Epirus.
Thessaly, Eastern Central Greece, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese
Cloud cover will increase at intervals with brief local showers more likely from the afternoon. Southerly to southwesterly winds will reach 4 to 6 Beaufort and hit 7 in eastern and southern parts.
Temperatures will vary from 09 to 18 or 19 degrees, slightly cooler by 2 to 3 degrees in the northern zones.
Cyclades and Crete
These islands will experience growing cloudiness and local rainfall mainly over southern Crete. Winds from the south will blow at 4 to 6 Beaufort, touch 7 and over western Crete at night temporarily reach 8.
Temperatures will register between 11 and 19 degrees.
Eastern Aegean Islands and Dodecanese
Clouds will thicken at times and bring local showers while isolated thunderstorms may appear over the eastern Aegean islands. Southerly winds will strengthen to 5 to 7 and briefly to 8 Beaufort.
Temperatures will range from 12 to 19 degrees.
Attica
The region will see periods of increased cloudiness with a chance of light showers mainly after midday. Southerly to southwesterly winds will reach 4 to 6 Beaufort and briefly 7 early in the morning in the east.
Temperatures will vary from 11 to 18 degrees.
Thessaloniki
Cloudiness will increase from time to time with the possibility of light showers mostly in the east. Southeasterly winds will blow at 3 to 5 Beaufort.
Temperatures will range from 08 to 16 degrees.
Forecast for Tuesday 06 01 2026 Epiphany
Western Greece along with eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the northeastern Aegean will face heavier cloud cover accompanied by rain and scattered thunderstorms which may become strong in parts. Other areas will see brief periods of clouds and local rain particularly in the north and eastern island regions.
Light snow may fall over the northwestern mountains. African dust will continue to affect many areas.
Southern winds will reach 4 to 6 Beaufort, temporarily up to 7 in the Ionian and up to 8 in eastern areas. Temperatures will rise slightly especially in the west and south, reaching 15 to 17 and locally 18 degrees in northern and central inland areas. The Ionian and the remainder of the mainland will see 18 to 19 and locally 20 degrees, while the Cyclades, Crete and the Dodecanese will climb to 20 to 21 degrees.

Most regions will see extensive cloudiness with showers spreading mainly across the west, the north and the eastern Aegean. Thunderstorms will occur in the west, northeastern mainland and the eastern Aegean islands.
Some storms may turn strong in the Ionian, Epirus, western Central Greece, western Peloponnese especially the north, eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the northeastern Aegean. Snowfall is expected in the northwestern mountains.
African dust will remain present. Southerly winds will blow at 5 to 7 Beaufort and in the Aegean may reach 8 or possibly 9. Winds will gradually shift in the west during the night to westerly southwesterly at 5 to 6 Beaufort. Temperatures will hold steady.

Clouds will spread across most of Greece bringing local showers mainly in the west, the northeastern mainland and the eastern island regions where scattered thunderstorms are expected. Snow will fall in mountainous mainland areas.
Western districts will experience westerly winds at 5 to 6 Beaufort and up to 8 in the Ionian. Eastern parts will continue with southerly winds at 6 to 7 and locally 8 in the Aegean before gradually turning westward with similar strength. Temperatures will drop particularly in the west and north.

Cloud cover will be limited overall although western, southern and eastern island areas will retain thicker clouds with local showers and isolated storms particularly over Crete, the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese before improving later. Other regions will enjoy generally clear weather with occasional passing clouds.
Light snow may occur mainly in central and northern mountain areas. Westerly to northwesterly winds will reach 5 to 7 and locally 8 Beaufort with gradual weakening from the north. Temperatures will dip slightly further.
